ALAN CARAMEROS

Head of Land

Born and raised in the Oil and Gas Hub of Houston, Texas, Alan has always been attracted to the oil patch from a young age. Growing up hearing tall tales of his grandfather’s Oil and Gas Midstream conquests abroad, he naturally set his sights on the Oil and Gas industry directly after college. With Alan’s educational background in Economics, he strives to intertwine economic theory and project management to deliver unique land deliverables for whatever the project requires. However, it wasn’t until Alan became proficient in title due diligence and large land data analytics that he realized his true calling was in the GIS arena.

To this day, the constant artistic-like battle between representing surface and subsurface ownership in GIS maps challenges Alan to push the envelope with software capabilities and land management. Alan brings experience, dedication and creativity to the Firebrand Land team as he merges technology and analytics into a unified platform for their clients to manage and prosper.

JIM D.HILL

Head of Technology

Born on the outskirts of the Permian Basin during the Oil Crisis of 1979, Jim Hill started his life moving from play to play as his father worked for various drillers during the resulting oil boom of the 198o’s.

From an early age, Jim was intrigued with computers and would take every opportunity to learn anything he could about how they worked and what they could do. His first programming lesson came from an Atari XE system that he would spend hours typing up BASIC programs that he copied from the manual to a small TV that served as a console.

Eventually, his family settled down in the desert of the Delaware Basin where Jim completed his education in computer science. He relocated to the Dallas Fort Worth area and began working as a contractor for small businesses as he honed his skill for solving wide ranging computer problems.

During this time, he became very interested in databases and he sought ways to break into the field. He was given his opportunity during a chance encounter while doing work at one of his clients’ office. This encounter launched a ten-year journey into the heart of database development and user interface design.

But soon his roots in the oil patch would come calling. Jim found himself on the footsteps of a project that would lead him back to the Permian Basin to wrestle oil from the ground like his father did albeit in a more upstream fashion.

Jim became part of a team that assembled the inner workings of an application that enabled the efficient transfer of information necessary to empower operators and investors alike. The very best parts of that team are what is now known as Firebrand Land Company™.

JARRETT VAMVAKIDIS

Chief Executive Officer

Jarrett grew up in the Oil and Gas business as his father was with Mobil Oil prior to it becoming ExxonMobil, providing a worldly upbringing. This was an end to a beginning he never foresaw.

Searching for a way to make his own mark, Jarrett avoided the O&G industry and sought after a strong educational background in Finance and Accounting while following his entrepreneurial instinct. He never set limits to goals and pushed hard to break boundaries. This unique mindset has given Jarrett the competitive advantage with business development and strategy. If the systems are not available to assert the final goal, he will develop them. With his creative vision, instilled at a young age, he has built a proven track record with positively influencing business development across a variety of industries both stateside and abroad.

After his father’s passing, a good friend suggested Jarrett revisit the Oil and Gas industry and that perhaps he would find clarity. Little did he know that his good friend was right, and an industry he tried to avoid would lead him down a path in which he would find no regrets.

With his innate sense of what can be achieved and the drive to find the missing links, Jarrett leaped into the O&G industry. A believer in learning the business from the ground up, Jarrett invested in learning the Land Services sector from the inside-out and several years later, with his background, expertise and connections, Firebrand Land Company™ was born.
